How to date a cabinet build year?

How to check the build year of the cabinet by serial number.
F.E.
C-54414 - which year was it made?
Is this China or English Celestion cabinet?

Dont know about the date but its my recent understanding that all OE celestions in mesas are MIE.

Yesterday I decided to take a look inside MESAs cabinet, and look what I have found!

Definitely UK!

There is no official serial number repository for cabs that I'm aware of, so, with Celestion loaded cabs the best things to do is to open it up & check the date code on the speakers.
