22+ resistor values at the power section and feedback loop

True. The OP will need to isolate the one(s) he's interested in.

Should Mesa Boogie reissue the Mark IIC+ ?

Maybe they could enter a licensing agreement with MojoTone and let them sell it as a kit. Then Mojo could source the parts, Gibson could simply collect rent. ;-)

Should Mesa Boogie reissue the Mark IIC+ ?

Gibson would have the leather jacket made in China

Anyone replace their IIc+ with a Mark V?

I thought a Mark V25 would be able to replace an F50. Almost, but no. 2-EL84s can't sound like 2-6L6s.

    Mark V25...Mark IV channel

Is it just me, or is the Mark IV channel more open/less compressed than the IIC+ ? It sounds like it breathes more, if that makes sense.

The one guitar you regret most parting with?

Parted with an MIJ Strat in the late 80s. Such an idiot.. it probably just needed at proper setup and a tweak to the pickup heights.

Mark V 25 Head goes pop

@playingitloud ... Been playing the Mark V25 again lately, and now no pops at all. I keep it on standby for 30 seconds after turning the power on, and then back to standby again before turning the power off. All quiet on the Mesa front. No new tubes needed!

More SPL from the Mark V - 35 (combo)

Most speaker companies list the sensitivity of their products, ie dB at 1m powered by 1W. Mesa lists the C90 at 99 dB. You want something higher, like an Eminence Swamp Thang at 102 dB. The EVM12L spec lists a sensitivity of 100 dB.

The REAL output of a Mark V/90

    Duplicate, sorry

The REAL output of a Mark V/90

Agreed. It would be nice if the industry just adopted W = (Vrms)^2 / R, where Vrms = 0.707 Vac, and Vac is measured at the onset of clipping. I've seen that standard in a few audio texts.

Eminence texas heat in boogie 1x12 for express 5:5

Eminence makes some choice speakers, and the Texas Heat is sure one of them. You won't know till you try tho. And it's an efficient one too, so things may get louder!

Mark V 25 Head goes pop

I'll let you know. Have been playing a little 5 watt lately, haven't got around to swapping out tubes in the Mark V25.

Anyone replace their IIc+ with a Mark V?

Lol. Good call on the marketing lore.

Should Mesa Boogie reissue the Mark IIC+ ?

So now not even an original IIC+ sounds like an original IIC+, only some of them do? Only a chosen few with magic pixie dust sprinkled across the circuitry? Great. Makes good marketing material I suppose.

Should Mesa Boogie reissue the Mark IIC+ ?

It will sound different, mostly because our hearing is not what it was 40 years ago.

Should Mesa Boogie reissue the Mark IIC+ ?

You don't argue any of his points, you just tell him to shut up because you somehow know better. Now that's a hit and run. Play nice or play somewhere else, OK? No one's bowing down to your authority here.

Should Mesa Boogie reissue the Mark IIC+ ?

On the other hand, you could put two IIC+ in a room together, and with a few decades of component drift in the resistors and caps, even they wouldn't sound the same at this point. So any comparison between a IIC+ and the Mark V version of it rather begs the question of which IIC+ you're using...

Should Mesa Boogie reissue the Mark IIC+ ?

This is my thought as well. Marshall and Fender do a brisk business selling reissues. Vox just keeps pumping out AC15s and AC30s. My issue with the Mark V, and now the Mark VII, is that it only gives a slice of the IIC+. Given its holy grail status, I'd wager the a reissue would do well. Hey...

    What do you think?

What Mesa has the best cleans?

I think you're right about the Lone Star clean circuit finding it's way into other Mesa amps. I believe the FAT clean on the Mark V is one example.
