    Mark III brainwashing

I'll admit to being confused. I thought that my Mk.III head was a 60/100W because of the Full Power/Half Power switch. It's a Purple Stripe, #17633, dated 8/86. The Half Power setting sounds significantly louder than my friend's '85 Black Dot in Class A. There's no Simul sticker on the back of...

    Mark II C Coliseum

On the Half Power setting (75W), it's a sweet guitar amp. Mine was used by a dark surf band playing a 150 seater the other night. It sounded great. It also makes a really nice bass head on Full Power (180W). That's how I use it personally. Driving an Ampeg 8x10, it's mighty fine!

    Mark II C Coliseum

I think that the scanned sticker for the EQ sounds like a great idea. Two Coliseums and a blue-face SVT...and I thought I had some wallop! I am in envy of your Mark III Coliseum.

    Mark II C Coliseum

I paid $1150 CAD for my Mark IIB Coliseum, no reverb. I put about another $80 into replacing broken EQ faders. All totalled, that would be about $1050 USD at the time, October, 2006.

    Mark II C Coliseum

Does anyone have any comments on the fact that this head sold for $2100 USD? I'm feeling very good about what I paid for my Mark IIB Colisuem right now.

    Mark I

Any comments on the Mark I currently listed on eBay? The seller suggests that it's from the early '90s, with a serial number of H0028 and sticker lettering on the back.

    how to mic up mkiv

Dutchman makes an excellent point with regard to stage volume and size of venue. The more volume you throw off stage into a small venue, the less control you leave with the sound tech. This is something too many players would choose to forget and generally it's their audiences who suffer the...

    Speaker/Cabinet suggestions

Yes, I'm certainly leaning toward a 4 x 12. The Celestion V30 option sounds very interesting. Thank you.

    Speaker/Cabinet suggestions

I'm playing my Mark III through Celestion-loaded 4x10 at present but I'm interested in exploring others options. Any suggestions on speakers and/or cabinet choices?

    schematicheaven

While we're on the subject of schematics. I'm still searching for a schematic for a Mark IIB Series 300 Coliseum. I asked the factory, without success. Any leads would be appreciated.

    Mark?

That is, I believe, an early Mark III. The Rhythm 2 function on the Middle control, the serial number and date would all seem to support this. Look at the upper left corner of the rear of the chassis for a coloured mark. If it has any mark at all, it's probably a black dot or stripe. Check out...

I love to see pictures of your amp. It sounds very cool.

    Mark III Reverb Failure

I just bought an '86 Mark III Purple Stripe. It's in beautiful shape but the reverb's non-functional. I spoke to the seller who said that he might have crossed the output and input wires at the chassis during a recent re-assembly. This was in fact true. I've corrected that problem and put in a...

    schematicheaven

Yes, schematic heaven is great...except they put the Traynors in the "Bargain Bin". I love my Boogies but I love my YBA-3s too and I feel kind of insulted of their behalf.

    Mark II-Mark III?

Thank you all for your help. I always learn something very useful here. The amp is indeed a Mark III and I suspect that it's about ten years newer than advertised. Maybe it's just me and my inexperience with Boogies but there seems to be a great deal more misinformation from vendors than with...

    Mark II-Mark III?

Thank you. Do you think that the vendor's information is therefore inaccurate? November '84 is far too early for a Mark III isn't it?

    Mark II-Mark III?

I recently spotted a Boogie for sale on a website. The vendor lists it as a Mark II and states that the chassis date is 11/84. However, from the picture available, it clearly has the "Pull Rhythm" function on the Middle control. I was under the impression that this feature was introduced with...
