Single or Dual Rec...I think I screwed up

I have a Rect-o-verb Series 1 (the Single Rec. combo). I would say the disadvantages of the ROV are: more noticeable delay when switching between clean and dirty channel; lack of on-board variac switch; inability to switch between tube and SS rectifier' two instead of three channels. But if...

    Version Differences for Single Rec?

Wow. I'm glad that setup works for Petrucci. But, I don't have a degree in electrical engineering, so it makes my head hurt.

    Version Differences for Single Rec?

Also, Series I used 6L6's only, but Series II offered the option of using 6l6's or EL34's. I believe some people felt the clean sound was better on the Series I, but I've never played a series II myself.

    Rectoverb drive question.

Haven't had a chance to make those clips--my house was put on the market Friday evening, so we've had to stay out of the way of prospective buyers this weekend. I did play my ROV last night briefly. I think I know what you are experiencing, if it is normal and not a problem with the amp...

    Rectoverb drive question.

No, not at the moment. But I will try to do one later in the day for you. I think, although I haven't done this yet, you can download short MP3 clips to soundclick.com for free.

    Rectoverb drive question.

I've got the same amp, and I haven't had that problem. Maybe, if not the amp, it's the guitar? The action could be too low, and you're fretting out. If adding the wah or a drive helps, that wouldn't be it, though. I think something's wrong with the amp.

    Little Recto's?

whoops. I thought the LSS had a high gain setting. But, obviously, I'm no expert.

    Little Recto's?

I haven't played it, but the Lone Star can be reduced to 5 watts it seems. http://mesaboogie.com/Product_Info/Lonestar/LonestarSpecial.htm

Negative review on Rect-O-Verb.. Are these statements true?

I have a serie I ROV. It's a quality amp. I don't care if that anonymous internet wanker is Jesus H. Christ--he/she is an idiot with an axe to grind.

    Mesa warranty acknowledgement?

I bought a Stiletto and traditional 4X12 about 3 months ago and never got any acknowledgement of receipt of my warranty card until yesterday. Got a call from one of the guys in customer service letting me know about the "Hollywood Mod" for the Stiletto. I think they only called because of my...

    Dialing In The Stiletto

I also like to roll the mids back to about 9 or 10 o'clock. To my ears, the mid control actually controls some high frequency tone as well. But, I think the most pleasing EQ settings depend much on what guitar you are using, as well as the tonal preference of the player. I don't have a Les...

    BBE Sonic Maximizer with Stiletto

whoops, forgot to mention tite gain voicing. Also, I noticed you've had the amp for a year now, Guitarz (didn't catch that in your second post), so my settings suggestion probably is old news.

    BBE Sonic Maximizer with Stiletto

I've had the Stiletto now for a month or so. I had the same complaint about the amp when I first got it--too much treble. I found that, in addition to turning down the treble and presence, turning down the mids helps. I like the amp now, but was dissappointed at first. Sample setting for...
