Best pedals to improve the Mark series overdrive tone

I used to run a Keely modded SD-1 in front of my Mesa Pre/2:50 combination and it really gave me that singing violin quality sound. Major sellers remorse on that rig...sigh.

Mesa Studio preamp too **** flabby

I had my Pre for years then, in a fit of total dumba**ness sold it prior to my last move. I still regret getting rid of her. One thing I did do to "tighten' things up was to use a good OD pedal in front of it, but honestly with good tubes and working with the settings, adjusted for your...

The one guitar you regret most parting with?

Honestly it was the horribly pink USA made ESP with 3 single coils. I bought it because the neck was AMAZING, then added a Floyd rose and a new clear pickguard and some upgraded pick ups...sigh. Yep, wish I stll had it.

    Isolating my roadster

I threw together an ISO box that my 4x12 lives in. Basically, some auralex type foam, wood and carpeting. Works pretty darn well I can get good recorded tones and not destroy walls, furniture and pets in the process.

What's the best settings for a Studio Preamp / 295 Poweramp

I use my G Major I to do my channel switching. I love the single stomp approach it gives me, except of course when I need the OD!! That requires one more stomp.

Anyone know of a good overdrive pedal for a Studio Preamp?

I'm leaning toward the SD 1 w/ a Keeley mod. Using this with my studio pre and love it. I can use it as a drive, boost, or create a 3rd channel that I use for AC/DC'ish sounds.

What's the best settings for a Studio Preamp / 295 Poweramp

First welcome to the Studio Pre world!! I run my pre through 2:50 so...... having said that I don't run at very high volumes so my power amp knob is at about 9-10?? give or take I tend to run my preamp volumes fairly hot and use my G-major to somewhat attenuate things Settings: Hmmm, frankly...

    I Love My Rig

Awesome and congrats!! greener pasture aka GAS is indeed an epidemic among most of us, so I for one envy you. I will say however I am probably the most happy I have ever been with my simple rig, but the GAS still bites now and again. :D

    Best processor for pre

True on both counts. I use a G major 1 with my pre and love the channel switching capabilities. Although I am seeing some nice pricing around the web on used g-majors..

    Studio Preamp - Rack mounted

I have had mine for 2 or so years now running with a Mesa 2:50 and am constantly re-falling in love with it!! With good tubes in it the tones can be nothing short of miraculous. (that being said constant GAS is a real pain and I know I would kick myself it I sold it)
