My local Mesa tech could not fix my Mark IV, so he is shipping it back to Mesa today. It will probably be gone for a month but at least when it comes back it should be good as new.

Boogiebabies, do you know where I can find a schematic for the Mark IV Rev B?

I was reading the specs on LDRs and they last for up to 20,000hrs. If you play for about 3hrs a day every day they should last about 18 years. Not bad. Even relays will eventually fail. They can only switch so many times before they crap out. I don't know which is more reliable over time.

Hey thats great! That gives me a lot of hope for my Mark IV. My amp is with my tech now because my lead channel lost its OD as well. He also suspects it is the LDRs.

After I got my amp back from the tech I was playing on the lead channel for about an hour or so and suddenly the gain dropped out again. WTF! I dropped it off again so hopefully this time he will actually fix it.

My amp is finally fixed. The problem turned out to be the output transformer. There was no voltage on the secondary side of the transformer, so the power amp section was not working correctly. Once the tech replaced the OPT the lead channel began working correctly also. I will pick it up...

Talked to Mesa and they said they need to see the amp either at one of there authorized repair centers or worst case back in Cali. They don't believe it is just a tube problem. Before that can happen I have to get the warranty issue straightened out. I'll be working on that today with the seller.
