    Mark IIC to IIC+

MB refers to these amps as C minuses, as they were the reason he dicked with the circuit to create the C+. Alot of people with the C's were asking them to be changed to B's before the C+ was added. IMO, if I had one of these, I would definitely have it upgraded. But hey...that's me. They...

    Bendinelli Custom Amp just finished...

So here are some new pics. After having this amp a few days, it truely sounds like HELL ON WHEELS. The head is the purple SL on the bottom. This amp is seriously giving my '67 50W a run for it's money. --Cheers

    Bendinelli Custom Amp just finished...

This was posted to another forum and my apologies if this isn't the correct place for this post, but I figured since it was a Bendinelli custom built amp...no better place for it than the pre-91 forums as most here know the IIC+. So here's the story: About 9 months ago I decided to take the...

    CONTACTING MESA????

Boogie knows customer service because they started out as a custom order company that didn't sell to dealers. You had to order your gear directly throught them, via the catalog. These guys are old school and they operate like it. Can't say enough good things about them....especially...

So, what amps do you own?

'84 IIC+ Long chassis head, fully loaded with SC, Reverb, EQ. (sounds ungodly) '67 50W 1986 Marshall Plexi with a '69 Basketweave cab. (sounds ungodly) '98 Guytron GT-100. (brilliant tones at any level, very versatile) '06 Metroamp Plexi, 12xxx series built by a VERY VERY FAMOUS amp engineer...

    We have been betrayed !!!!

Well, I don't have 8 C+s in my arsenal, only one fully loaded head for the past 16 years...and I will say that the two types of amps are night and day. In the last month, I bought a 50W 67-68 Plexi Smallbox and will say that I'm getting tones out of that amp that I've never, ever heard (in...

    KRANK

Word is that Dime NEVER played Randalls...he supposedly had an old modded Superlead that he kept in the back, behind his "Randall" rig. This came from a pretty reliable source. Like someone said, there are guys who play the gear they endorse, and there are guys that will just endorse whatever...

Mark III settings Help.... Whitesnake '87 tone

Sykes is a friggin' monster. How he pulls off the vibrato **** that sounds like a tremolo is beyond me. He was always one of my biggest influences. I remember when I met Jose Arredondo before he died and he was telling me that Sykes was playing his Marshalls on the Whitesnake album, I was...

    Sweet IIC+ Head

Now I know what my head would be worth on eBay...not that I would EVER contemplate selling it!

MK III coliseum I just purchased on ebay.

Tips, how about earplugs or maybe warning the neighbors? Just kidding...hehe...congrats on the amp. Nice score and the price can't be beat. I've never had the satisfaction of hearing one in person and have always kind of wanted one because I myself am a little hard of hearing. :) By the way...

Got a phone call from Mike B today

Ah...I heard about an amp that came in, I thought was a MKI, that had an interesting mod done. Obviously it was the wrong amp. Enjoy the newly cleaned up amp!

Got a phone call from Mike B today

Is that the MK I that has had the weird mod done? If so, I've heard some really good things about it! Supposedly, there's a old amp in the shop (can't remeber if he said MKII or I) that has this mod done that makes it's sound amazing. Like a "Hi-Watt on f-ing steroids" is the term he used...

    IIC+ Head For Sale

Can anyone else on here post theirs and maybe we can figure out the discrepancy? The 17 on mine doesn't make sense for week of production as the number should be much higher in June of '84, if production started in late '83. Crap...I'm getting too old. I can remember clearly what I was doing...

    IIC+ Head For Sale

Just pulled my chassis and it says, "DRG 15' 17. I'm assuming it is a 15" chassis and 17th week of production. Mine is serial 128XX, dated 6/84. Hope this helps the dating process.

    IIC+ Head For Sale

This is really cool info to know. It also had a 15", which I assume indicates long chassis. I'm pulling mine again tonight to see what the number was as I didn't snap a photo. I'll keep you guys posted in case anyone wants to cross-reference my serial and date with the DRG number for week of...

    IIC+ Head For Sale

I just saw the DRG in huge letters recently when I took my photos. What exactly does that mean? I was wondering what the hell that was when I saw it. And by the way, Boogiebabies is spot-on regarding the price and serial. My serial is 128XX and is dated June of '84. This puts Todd's amp...

My C+ inside & out photos

He might save alot of time in the shop on the phone by answering a few questions here, but he has said in the past that he's not a big fan of computers, so it most likely wouldn't happen. Definitely seems to be an "old school" type of guy, but one of the nicest people in the business by far. I...

My C+ inside & out photos

wow...what a real bummer. We would hate to see you bail from the boards, Boogiebabies. Besides, if we don't have you here to answer questions, Mike's job will be reduced to 8 hours a day of C+ questions. He told me that he spent 4 hours the other day taking calls about these...I'm sure his...

My C+ inside & out photos

Wow, thanks again for the detailed analysis of my amp! It's nice to know what's going on inside as I'm not an engineer. I just enjoy the insane tonal qualities of this particular amp. I'm taking a trip up to Petaluma to meet up with Mike in about a month and am taking this along to have him...

My C+ inside & out photos

Damn Ed, you really know these amps. Simply amazing! I think the lionshare of the repairs were actually done in Hollywood about 3 months ago when I took it in for servicing. The gain stage was crapping out, not sounding too thin or anything, just getting noisy, unlike anything I've heard from...
