REISSUE Rumor: Mark IIC+ and 2ch Recto

Hands down the best video so far. thank you @Doug Doppler coaxed some great tones out of the amp. I learned a few new things that I want to try with my OG HR. That said IMHO always felt the IIC+ was always pegged as this metal amp... but it is so much more. Yea the single channel dual mode is...

NAD!! I guess Badlander goes in this section?

man that sounds pretty awesome. The WB C90 is a great paring, I do think the EVM Thiele as an extension with the WB is sweet. If you get motivated to lug it over I'd dig hearing how you liked that.

    Badlander el34s vs 6L6 smackdown

Hey Damon welcome back it's been a while. FWIW I found many of your past Lonestar posts really helpful as I was getting into my LSS. But yea digging the Badlander 50 big time. For me I'm finding the various combinations of el34/6l6/triode/pentode/variac really provide some useful tone...

    Volume failure on mk5

Well, that's excellent news. V3 are gain stages for Ch 1 & Ch 2 so at 1st glance perhaps one would think Ch 3 would have shown more function, but as you stated the reverb was different on Ch 3. BTW, the forum here is also for discussion about Mesas in general :) Feel free to come back and...

REISSUE Rumor: Mark IIC+ and 2ch Recto

+1 Well put. Being thru a few startup acquisitions... this is very spot on.

    Volume failure on mk5

First I totally get the frustration... new amp and all. Well if I had to guess it seems there is a problem with the muting circuit. I am a bit familiar with the switching control, muting and reverb circuit of the V:90. If misery loves company you have a friend as I recently have lost the reverb...

    Badlander el34s vs 6L6 smackdown

bro it's gear right??? That gives you free reign LOL FWIW the BAD hasn't made me forget my Marks either. It's a different beast for sure. For my live situation it just sits perfectly in the band mix, best with the el34s. At the studio I am drawn to the V:90. :)

New Forum Member - Legacy Mark IIC+ Owner (Exploring potential Mods for my amp that is waiting a refresh at Mesa in Petaluma)

Welcome, sounds like a very cool amp you've enjoyed for years. I'd suggest reposting this in the Vintage Amps (before 1991) / Mark Series sub forum cause you'll get more eyes on it there. Plus also search the posts there and something may jump out.

    Badlander el34s vs 6L6 smackdown

So are you looking for a bit more beef in the lower mid-range, that deeper saturation? If so I get it, the Marks are like that. FWIW I totally dig the BAD but it's just not a Mark :)

Using Mesa Boogie Studio 22+ as preamp

let Excellent let us know how it works out for you. Good luck.

Using Mesa Boogie Studio 22+ as preamp

as @D-Max mentioned you are safe since you have a load with the speaker connected. The Direct out signal comes off of the output transformer. You can use either into your Fender amp. It just depends on your ears which one sounds better :sneaky:

    Volume failure on mk5

Ok, just throwing ideas out here. Curious do you have a footswitch? If so perhaps disconnect it and manipulate the controls from the back panel to see if anything changes. The other thing to try is to take the FX loop Send to an outside monitor amp and see what the isolated preamp is doing. I...

REISSUE Rumor: Mark IIC+ and 2ch Recto

This Exactly ^^^^ ... oh yea do remember, back in the day that it was difficult to get an optimal balance live. I'd also fight with getting the lead chan to cut thru at the vol levels I'd prefer. Seemed like it was always sacrificing the great liquid tone that had been dialed in between lead...

    Volume failure on mk5

Did you try running it in 'HARD BYPASS/LOOP ACTIVE" mini toggle in the bypass position"?

REISSUE Rumor: Mark IIC+ and 2ch Recto

Yes that's my take as well, twice I've been up to Mesa and spent a decent amount of time with MikeB. He's pretty chill especially about the whole IIC+ deal, had a number of good stories but yea got that feeling he definitively wanted to fly under the wire.
