    GONE - Mark-IIC+ w/Rev and EQ - 60/100 (HRG) - X101 PT

This C+ has been Sold. Forgot to list something special about this amp. It has the X101 PT!! (Added a bunch of pics) Mark-IIC+ w/Reverb and EQ - 60/100 (HRG) - Serial# 111xx It started out as a IIC. I sent into Mesa for the + upgrade shortly after I got it about 10 years ago. It's...

Has the release of the JP-2C affected original mkiic+ value?

What an insightful post! Very well put.

    NAD Mark III

The STR-415's - Yes they are likely the original tubes. And yes again regarding finding a pair of 416's. In lieu of those you could get a pair of Sylvania 6CA7's/ EL34's. Same tube as the Mesa labeled STR-416.

    NAD - IIC+

Congrats! Have you tried it through the speaker in the combo? (btw which speaker is in the combo?) I never liked V30's with a C+. I don't remember why as it's been awhile but they may be the cause of the bassy-ness your getting. What Channel 1 volume mod are you talking about, Is it the...

My Mark amp presence control is @10 from now on!

There is so much that goes into getting ones "tone"! Some can have a huge impact while others are more subtle. Pickups, speakers amp, not to mention what tubes in an amp. Guitars themselves are an amalgam-am of items that affect tone (other than the pick-ups). One piece neck through designs vs...

    SOLD

Got any pics of the codes on the X101 PT? Just curious. I thought C+'s with the X101 had the switch for changing voltages for European countries etc. I know Xport trannys were used on older models (IIA's and before) by default but always thought the Xport tranny on a C+ was a special order due...

NAD! Mark 2B Coliseum and serial number questions.

Fwiw not all Colis had the "K" designation in the serial number (including some made after yours). That said some earlier may not have had the "K" designation.

    NAD: Mark iic+

The Serial number format is normal. It's definitely one of the lowest IIC's I've seen (if not the lowest).. Fwiw it's likely during the end of IIB production and beginning of IIC production a pre-numbered chassis was used for your IIC Below are the general ranges for serial numbers of IIB and...

Mark III with and without Reverb

Hmm good question. The V4 preamp tube feeds the reverb circuit but nothing else. Maybe when it's turned down all the way the signal isn't affected. (This might be different in some Mark series amps which split the reverb circuit between two preamp tubes) Also I'd be curious if the Reverb foot...

    NAD: Mark iic+

Congrats! Yours also has the Export OT (obviously since you are in AU but it's desirable even in the US). From the IIC Manual: "Also located beneath the chassis is a stereo socket for the optional Dual Footswitch. This will be wired to activate, when applicable, the Graphic EQ and Reverb...

Using all EL34's in. mk III

No, and why bother. If you want a vintage straight EL34 amp go buy a Marshall
  15. G

Using all EL34's in. mk III

Those sockets were not designed for EL34's so it's not advisable. EL34's can't handle the voltages of the 6L6 sockets.

WTB: No Stripe/Black Stripe Mark III Simul-Class Head

A No stripe/ Black stripe wont have the X101 PT (export PT). They are more likely to have the 105 PT.

Using all EL34's in. mk III

You can use EL34's in the outer sockets of any Mark series Simul-Class amp including your MkIII

Same here and when playing through a C+ it responds in ways like no other and that the music just flows right outta me......

Mark IIC+ - Guide for Dummies

Nice Sean. Good info! I did some research and found some similar info. It seems like commas and/or periods are being formatted weirdly. Here's a copy of the original text pasted from a "txt" file. Let's see if the formatting is still whacked. -----------------------------------------------...
