    MK III purple stripe combo

The 60 has it's own thing going on. The feel is different. It seems faster and crisper, more defined. It lacks some of the low end of it's bigger brothers so it doesn't get as flubby at my usual settings. It sounds good with any modern production tube I've tried in it but sounds really good with...

    MK III purple stripe combo

If you want c+ alternative and can't find a Mark III with the 105 transformer the 60 watt III's are a great option. I already have one Black Dot III+ SRG but I picked up another later production SRG (Serial number 27xxx) because R2 has more gain. It's at Mesa now getting service, III+/R2 mods...

    MK III purple stripe combo

The clips sound good! Did you have Mike B. do the III+ mod?

    Which Mark iv?

I would add preamp tubes to the tone formula of speakers and cabs. They can make or break an amp.

NAD Mark III long head blue stripe

Congrats on the new amp! I picked up a Mark III SRG head last week in mint condition. It rips! It's on it's way to Mesa for the III+\R2 mods and general service. The chassis has the hole for the fan outlet so I'm also getting a fan installed in the headshell.

    Is an upgraded c+ a legit c+?

There's definitely differences between the upgrades and the factory c+'s. And depending on your taste and playing style an upgrade might be a better fit. I actually prefer the upgrades. Does a c+ have to have the 105 transformer to be a true c+? What about the 60 watters, exports and coliseums...

    Is an upgraded c+ a legit c+?

Someone sent me a message on reverb.com about a listing I have for an upgraded c+ HRG. He's trying to tell me it's not a c+. I told him to ask Mike B. if it's a c+ since Mike's the one that puts the plus mark on the upgrades. What do you guys think?

need help with a mkIII combo

Unplug the speaker cable and make sure it isn't wrapped around any other wires. I usually stick the plug to the speaker magnet. Lay the amp on it's back. Loosen the 4 grill screws to remove the grill. Don't take them out all of the way so you can use them to pull out the grill. Now you can...

Love my red stripe Mesa Mark III...GAS'n for a Mark IIc+. Am I really missing a lot?

Coliseums don't use the 105. You can call Mesa to see if they have a record of any work done on it.

Mark III blue stripe vs Mark IV??

Mike B. had to perform major surgery on my No Stripe Mark III DRG Wide Chassis. The first time I tried it I knew something was wrong. I could have returned it but I wanted to keep it because of the 105 transformer. So off it went to Mesa. Mike called with the bad news. Someone had tried to mod...

Mark III blue stripe vs Mark IV??

I've been looking for a Mark III coli to add to my collection for awhile now. Hopefully I find one before Mike B. retires.

NAD- Early Mk III Black with export

Sweet! Put some old Mesa 7025/Chinese 12ax7's in it and let it rip!

The forgotten and unsupported pure MK II C

There is no reason to not upgrade a IIc. Why settle for an inferior amp even though you're only a rhythm guitarist.Getting the upgrade will also increase the value of the amp should you ever decide to sell it to someone who can get the most potential out of it. Just my opinion.

The forgotten and unsupported pure MK II C

The first IIc I bought was an HR. I played thru it for maybe 5 minutes if that. The lead tone was blah. I packed it back up and shipped it out that night to Mesa. The second IIc is a DRG. The lead tone was a lot better. Really close to a c+. I asked Mike B. if later IIc's had more gain. He said...

    X101 transformer versions

Nice amp! I had Mike B. reduce the brightness when he did the III+/R2 mod. It makes the Presence more usable. I've got a lot of amps and the III+'s probably get used the most.

    X101 transformer versions

I have a Mark III+ DRG wide head with the x101. I was actually using it this past weekend. Great amp! Very close to a c+ with the III+ mod.

The forgotten and unsupported pure MK II C

Have you tried a c+? I've had Mike B. upgrade 3 c's to c+'s. An upgraded c+ is one sweet sounding amp. I spend most of my time playing thru my Mark III+ DRG/105 because of R2 but if I could only have one amp it would probably be my upgraded c+ HR.

    Mark IIc+ combo dimensions

    Sorry for the late reply. I just measured a combo. It's 18 3/4" wide x 10 3/4" deep x 17 3/8" high not including the rubber feet.

    Neal Schon Mark IIc+ DRG

I'm not on Facebook. I just called Mesa customer service to see if the amp had been in for service. They said it was there in 2012 for new caps, power tube sockets and maintenance. It is really touch sensitive. It's just a fantastic amp. I haven't compared it side by side to my Coliseum yet but...

    Neal Schon Mark IIc+ DRG

This c+ is sweet. It might be the best c+ I own. The cleans are rich and warm and the overdrive is super creamy but still has definition. I've been playing it with a HSS Strat at 115 volts on a variac thru a Mesa Halfback 4x12 with Celestion C90's on top and EV's in the bottom and there's no...
