It's the same amp. Nothing has changed about its design besides the transformers in 2020. I'm surprised more people don't talk about the amp exactly as described in the news release Ola read from -- Ch. 2 and Ch. 3 are indeed slightly different, with Ch.3 being more aggressive, fluid and 'bigger'.

I’m running my JP2C through a Mesa 2x12 vertical and horizontal. It sounds good. Can recommend! I’d like a traditional 4x12 straight cab (anyone want to sell me one?!). I’m also on the hunt for a Marshal 1960 straight with 75’s; I expect that to also sound excellent with the JP2C.

That's an EL34 you have pictured above. Is that amp a Simulclass? If so, it's got EL34s in the outer 2 sockets. For the best, I'd see if Mesa still has any of those vintage 416's to sell you. @bandit2013 can better offer advice than myself. The inner two tubes should be 6L6GC's and the outers...

If a retube of the preamp doesn't fatten it up, don't overlook potential power tube issues. Also, is the 100/60 watt switch in the 60-watt position? That can sound a tad thinner, especially if you're used to the 100 watt setting. Your ears get over it quick though...
