Seen at Seattle Guitar Center: Purple Stripe DRG Mark III

Tones sound great, a lot better than any tones I've ever had with the GEQ disengaged on my IV or V or old red stripe.... but in fairness, I've probably never put that much effort into dialing in high gain tones without the GEQ engaged lol Those zep tones are super killer too I actually had...

Seen at Seattle Guitar Center: Purple Stripe DRG Mark III

Oh crap! This is perfect diving into these now!! I see an LP and a thiele so very close to my hypothetical rig with a purple too

Seen at Seattle Guitar Center: Purple Stripe DRG Mark III

Yep thats the one. I'd be curious to try the actual Mesa unit too, I'm sure it would be even closer. They seem pretty hard to find these days though, and when they do pop up super expensive

Seen at Seattle Guitar Center: Purple Stripe DRG Mark III

Yeah, last week I was A/Bing the Mesa GEQ model on my HX stomp to the actual GEQs on my IV and V to see what my feelings would be running this purple like that. Not quite the same/as good and a slightly different feel but overall it was actually much closer than I was anticipating. Pretty sure I...

Seen at Seattle Guitar Center: Purple Stripe DRG Mark III

Nice! Curious to hear some of your thoughts on your current non GEQ purple stripe? There's a 60 watt non-GEQ purple stripe (does have reverb though) local to me listed for 1200, after a few declined trade offers he offered me a few hundred off that price so I'm thinking I'll likely be picking...

Mark V QUESTION ON HEAD OR COMBO

I prefer heads personally, especially because I do not care for high gain tones with an open speaker back

The price of Mark series amps these days. thoughts?

I did ask the guy last week if he was considering trades which he said yes, then he seemed a bit offended that I offered him trade value the same as what he was asking.... followed by "I could sell this for way more on Reverb"

The price of Mark series amps these days. thoughts?

Damn!! I’d Jump on one at a GEQ below 15 in a heartbeat! In 2016 I paid around 1200-1300 for my fully loaded red stripe. I knew at the time I was overpaying but I had money burning a hole in my pocket and didn’t want to wait around for a deal lol. Never should have sold that thing :(

The price of Mark series amps these days. thoughts?

From my observation, price on Vs is way down, and IVs are coming back down to reality (I got mine for $1k at the beginning of the year and I've been seeing a lot of combos in the 1400-1500 range lately) The price of IIIs is pretty discouraging. I'm also not convinced that they're actually...

    Badlander el34s vs 6L6 smackdown

I'll probably at least temporarily pop EL34s back in this weekend just to see how I like the sound with this new speaker config vs. the 6L6s. Seems like its hard to go wrong either way though, such a cool amp

    Badlander and the EVM 12L

Not sure don't have an V30s around. I DID have a mesa vertical/diagonal 2x12 on backorder but I'm digging the redback/creamback in the madison so much I decided to cancel the order from now because it sounded like it would be ages, and I decided I didn't need to drop that cash at the moment...

    Still the King

I know the massive price hike is just devastating. Never should have sold my red stripe. I have a IV and a V that I love but the lunatic in me still wants another III too. and a II of some kind. And maybe a VII if/when used prices come down ever

What do designations like HR or DRG mean specifically? Curious to learn more about some of this older boogie lore

    Badlander and the EVM 12L

Drifting off topic here, but I’ve just been LOVING a new speaker configuration today… I got a celestion redback from my mom for my birthday in the mail today. I had an unloaded Madison 2x12 cab that’s been a hangout for my cats recently but I put the redback and yanked the 65 watt creamback out...

    Still the King

Badass!! I'll check that video out. It might be a stretch to call myself a metal player but on my lead channels I do like pretty brutal and tight tones. I couldn't imagine not using the GEQ on my marks but a purple stripe III popped up locally for the cheapest I've seen a III in over a decade...

    Badlander and the EVM 12L

Yes I was actually considering this last night, I run an HX stomp in 4cm for FX but I was thinking about setting the BAD up as two dirtier channels (I mean hey thats where it really shines right?) and just generating a faux 3 channel amp with a clean preamp in there. Seems like it could be a...

Not my whole rig but all my boogie gear in one shot

    Still the King

Killer! Is that a II of some iteration? How do you feel running that pedal GEQ performs compared to a mark with one built in?
  19. S

    Badlander and the EVM 12L

So I was running the BAD through my thiele again and I feel like I was digging it a lot more than my previous showdown with it. I'm wondering if it has to do with putting 6L6s in it? Or I've also probably retweaked my settings a bunch since last time. Or just fresh ears. I swear sometimes my...

    Badlander el34s vs 6L6 smackdown

Nice!! I still have the 6l6s in mine but I may go back the EL34s. I've been crazy busy so haven't had as much time to mess around as I'd like but things are starting to calm down a little I have a 2x12 vertical diagonal coming at some point (its on backorder) but looking forward to bringing...
