Hi..3rd Party as in who ?

Any amp tech that isn't a Mesa employee. There are plenty of capable techs, but there also plenty of incapable ones as well from what I've read online. Mesa does have authorized service centers, ie amp techs, I might start there if I were looking to get my amp modded.

Is the Modification well documented by Boogie so that a Technician can follow it accurately?..I thought only Boogie's Mike B did it but I just couldn't bring myself to unscrew it out of body..risk transit damage and spend to send it to the other end of the country and back from New Jersey.

I can't say if Mesa has before or would assist with that. From what I have read, Mike B has never documented modifying a IIC into a IIC+. There are user-generated schematics out there, and a supposed leaked official schem from Mesa, though I haven't verified any of them against my own amp.

So they have stopped doing mods and don't offer help.. lay out plan or parts to do it...?
Maybe it is time to call them.

It's pretty well established that the + mod to the Mark IIC makes the amp so much better, that we refer to a IIC without the + mod as a Mark IIC Minus.

Literally there is no demand at all to leave a IIC in its original form. If you sell it to me in that form, I'll be glad to buy it cheap, and as soon as I get it, off it goes to Mesa to get the + mod. Anybody, and everybody, will do the same thing.
I was offered 4500.00 from a local dealer. I went in to have it checked out and bought a correct date evm12l he had for sale.

I'm not interested in selling it or having the c+ conversion done. I can get a real good dumble sound from it from the lead channel and would be afraid the mod would alter that.
I'm curious how the evm12l would sound but I haven't taken the time to install it.
I've become really interested in bass guitar lately and the boogie hasn't been out of its case in almost a year.

Oh for sure the "+" will significantly change the lead chan... big time. Mike B will call and ask "Now just checking but are you sure you want to do this? It will be a major change" However, what's sometimes overlooked in the mod is that the Fx Loop is rearranged and much more usable after. If you enjoy it's current tone then that's good enough. (y)

+1 for the EVM12L great match for that amp IMHO

I've never used the effects loop in any amp I've owned.....I'm sure I'm missing out lol.

I play in stereo with a minimum of two amps through a massive pedal board. I play my for my own enjoyment ...I tried gigging several times over the last 43 years but I never had the time to spend. I wish I did but...life happens and unfortunately, dreams of becoming a well known guitar player took a back seat.

I do however, enjoy my hobby of collecting vintage gear and reading about it on forums such as this.

I had my IIC for many, many years before upgrading... TBH it's a great amp either way IIC or "+", yea alot of attention gets paid to Chan 2, but IMHO Chan 1 is amazing on either one. BTW, you gotta try the EVM :D

I hope to put the emv, in the amp at sometime before I lose interest.

Most likely though, it will just forget about it and be happy to provide it to a future owner. Should I ever chose to sell.

Just checking to see if this photo shows up on the site. If so I have a lot more.

It is NOT true that Mesa has stopped doing mods. I talked to Mike just a few days ago. You'll want to talk to him directly.

I wish the rumor mill would just STOP ALREADY.
It's not a rumor when Mesa's support directly tells you they don't mod amps. This is over email. If you want to say they give conflicting information, that's accurate. But if they are willing to do mods, then they should STOP SAYING OTHERWISE ALREADY.

There have been many mods done while they haven't been doing mods.
No reason to get butt hurt. Just ask nicely and when he says not to advertise it that is exactly what people are not doing.
But it's like watching the ants and missing the elephant in the room called retirement.

What's available if you ask people directly vs. what's formally on the "menu" are two different things.

This holds true in many fields.

The irony of including a direct comment of a personal nature in that reply. A reply which avoids my gist nonetheless.

All great reads! Ty all for sharing! Anyone know what the extra resistor is for on the pcb for foot switch jack in above pict?
